Lake County's Best Variety, 102.3 XLC and The Voice of Lake County - 1220 WKRS are looking for part-time Promotions Assistants. Below are the requirements and responsibilities for a Promotions Assistant.
Requirements:
Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a clean driving record, a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and should be able to lift at least 50 pounds. A flexible/open schedule is preferred. Promotion Assistants work approximately 10-20 hours per week. Must be available evenings and weekends.
Local applicants preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Representing the station on the streets at remotes and appearances
- Driving company vehicles
- Operating broadcast equipment
- Attending public relations functions

MARKETING CONSULTANT
General hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (some evening/weekends)
Department: Sales
Education: college degree preferred
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven sales success preferred. Self-starter with sense of urgency. Organized, attentive to detail, can handle multiple tasks with prompt follow-through to customers and company. Creative, customer-focused, asks key questions; listens and responds accordingly. Results oriented. Honesty, ethics and integrity are of paramount importance. Ability to interact and influence others in a positive manner while learning and working in a fast-paced, successful team environment.
Experience:
Prior radio sales experience preferred, sales of other media or other products/services will be considered.
Duties:
· Minimum of 3 set appointments per day
· Prospecting
· Maintains a minimum of 50 accounts each month
· Maintains complete files for each client
· Keeps organized work space, updated rolodex file
· Has an average of 15 accounts on the air each month
· Collects receivables before they exceed 90 days
· Accountable for budget goals each month
· Performs client needs through situation analysis
· Develops written proposals and marketing plans for clients
· Understands basic programming goals
· Acknowledges and accepts accountability in attainment of stations budget goals

INTERNSHIPS
(Available for Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer)
WXLC/WKRS is looking for students interested in learning more about the wonderful world of broadcasting. This is an excellent way to earn school credit and further your experience in radio. Let us know if you are interested! Promotion interns will coordinate and implement station events, manage listener database, assist with contests and promotions. Interns will also work with different departments inside the station to get a well-rounded experience. Possible departments include sales, programming, production, news, and on-air. We stress hands on learning with equipment training. We want you to learn as much as you can in-house as well as on location. Requires at least 7-10 daytime office hours a week plus some evenings and most weekends. If you are dependable, flexible, work well under pressure, with high energy level, this is a perfect opportunity! Computer experience is helpful, Word, Excel, Access.
